Young Voices Africa

Avert launches Young Voices Africa, an interactive series of videos and comics for young people covering a range of topics on sexual health and relationships. Developed in collaboration with a group of 15 to 24-year-olds from across Southern Africa, the materials are based on the issues young people feel are most important to them. Through the characters’ stories, young people are encouraged to think through their own situations, giving them the knowledge and skills to take control of their sexual health.

During the first year the series reached over 2.6 million people on social media, with over 1.3 million engagements, while the videos were watched over 490,000 times (viewing 50% or more).
