Self-testing in Southern Africa
In an attempt to make self-testing more widely available, Unitaid launches an initiative across Southern Africa, to improve access and uptake of self-testing. Nearly 5 million people are tested across Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Malawi, Zambia and South Africa, making this the world’s largest ever evaluation of self-testing. The project paves the way for the expansion of self-testing: successfully reducing its cost, and encouraging more countries to introduce policies around its use.
