The return to Durban

The 2000 Durban conference focused attention on the plight of millions who were dying because they did not have access to life-saving HIV treatment. Sixteen years later, campaigners and scientists highlight the work that remains to be done if the world is to achieve the global goal of ending AIDS by 2030. Young women and girls are a major focus, with figures showing that 35% of new infections occur in adolescents - mostly girls.
