International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2018) in Amsterdam
Discussion at AIDS2018 focuses on understanding the ‘10-10-10’ - those who are being left behind as countries strive to reach the 90-90-90 targets for testing, treatment and viral suppression.
With two years to go until the 2020 deadline, conversation moves to thinking about who we are yet to reach and whether the 90-90-90 targets may have encouraged the HIV response focus on achieving high numbers over meeting the needs of communities who face more challenges to accessing HIV services.
AIDS 2018, also saw the launch of the MenStar coalition, a new initiative to reach more men with HIV services. This initiative will aim to improving their engagement across the treatment cascade, where they traditionally lag behind their female counterparts.
