A global epidemic

It is becoming clear that AIDS is not a disease that just occurs in the USA. Throughout 1982 there are mounting reports of cases of AIDS-defining illnesses across a number of European countries, in Asia and in Oceania. Links between what is happening in the US are being made with cases in Africa as well. HIV is on its way to becoming a global phenomenon.
