Women talking about AIDS
AVERT produces the 'Women talking about AIDS' booklet, addressing a major gap in HIV information provision at the time – information for women not relating solely to pregnancy. It tells the stories of women affected by HIV and AIDS from a first-person perspective. By the end of 1991, more than a million copies have been distributed by AVERT.
[Poem taken from the booklet by Ruth, an HIV positive woman, about the difficulty of talking to her child about HIV]
