The 19th International AIDS Conference is held in Washington DC, USA with the theme of ‘Turning the Tide Together’. Nearly 24,000 participants gather from all over the world. Many of them would not have been allowed to enter the country had a two-decade travel ban on people living with HIV not been lifted the previous year.
