Political declaration

The 2011 Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS sets 10 targets, including ones on eliminating HIV and achieving universal access to prevention, treatment and support. The aim is to intensify the global response and promote political commitment to achieving these targets by 2015. As part of the Declaration, the '15 by 15' target is adopted, calling for 15 million people to be reached with HIV treatment by 2015.
