Vancouver AIDS Conference

The 11th International AIDS Conference in Vancouver, Canada, highlights significant treatment advances including combination therapy. However, the conference theme of ‘One World, One Hope’ does not reflect the reality that the scientific advances in antiretroviral treatment are restricted to high-income countries. The reality of HIV in low-income countries remains a very different world. A strong activist presence demands that drug companies lower their prices for antiretroviral medicines.
