Botswana highlights fears
In the face of one of the highest HIV prevalence rates in the world, Botswana’s leaders show strong commitment to respond to HIV. Botswana becomes an example for many other sub-Saharan African countries, leading the way in prevention and treatment programmes. It is the first country in the region to provide universal free antiretroviral treatment to people living with HIV, paving a path for many other countries to follow.
