AVERT's overseas programme

AVERT makes its first grant to an organisation called ‘Mothers to Mothers to Be’, which provides services to pregnant women living with HIV at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. Grants to other projects in the hardest-hit areas of the world follow. These include funding affordable CD4 tests in Mozambique, HIV teacher training in Russia and HIV education for sex workers and truck drivers in India.
