Transmission routes

The leading voice on all things AIDS in the early stage of the epidemic, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), hypothesises that AIDS is caused by something that is transmitted sexually, or through contaminated needles or blood. They also remark that there is no evidence that the disease is acquired through casual contact – including food, water, air or environmental surfaces.
