Western Blot

The USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves the Western Blot test for the detection of HIV antibodies. The test is used to confirm an HIV-positive result from an ELISA test – known to give false positives. The Western Blot test means that results derived from HIV testing are now more reliable.
