Universal treatment access

Progress in the delivery of antiretroviral treatment (ART) in low- and middle-incomes countries increases dramatically, with eight countries, including Cambodia, Cuba and Rwanda, achieving universal access for adults living with HIV. In Eastern and Southern Africa, the region most severely affected by HIV, treatment coverage increases from 32% to 41% in one year. Half of pregnant women in this region are able to access HIV testing and counselling in 2009.
