Rapid test

The US Food and Drug Administration approves a 10-minute HIV testing kit which can be used quickly and reliably by healthcare professionals to detect HIV-1. Rapid tests have a significant impact on HIV services in rural and lower resourced settings - including to prevent mother-to-child transmission - as test results can be delivered instantly without being sent to labs.
