Cazuza dies

Cazuza, a Brazilian rock legend and icon of a generation, dies from AIDS-related illnesses in 1990. As one of the first public figures to come out as HIV-positive, he is credited with demystifying HIV and AIDS in Brazil. His music has always been politically-charged, but after his HIV diagnosis in 1986, he uses his lyrics to chronicle his struggle living with the illness. His seminal album ‘O Tempo não pára’ (Time Doesn’t Stop), from which this quote is taken, is hugely popular in Brazil.
